A-Z Home Decor Trend 2014: Pineapples

Welcome Back to the second half of week 13 of the A-Z Home Decor Trend Guide 2014.Over a period of 13 weeks, I'm revealing the hottest home decor trends currently heating up the market, design blogs, and the internet.Today's home decor trend starts with the letter P for...Pineapples!I'm not sure where this started, but all of a sudden pineapple decor is showing up all over blogs, Instagram and Pinterest and the fact that it's summer just makes it all the more appealing.  Initially, pineapples may conjure up images of tropical island homes, but as you will see in the images below, it's a very fun and easy trend to incorporate into your every day lifestyle, especially during the summer season.This pineapple exterior light fixture is very stylish.  Not too kitschy...actually quite contemporary.  It would set the tone for a beach house or a West Indies style plantation home or just to incorporate something a little out of the ordinary to your exterior decor.

I love this house number plaque.  The black and gold makes it very elegant and since pineapples are the symbol for hospitality, it's very fitting to have it greet you in the front of your home.  I used to have a pineapple door knocker on my front door.  Now I'm wishing I took it with me...sigh!
