A-Z Home Decor Trend 2014: Collages

Welcome Back to the A-Z Home Decor Trend Guide 2014.

Over the next 13 weeks, I will be revealing 26 of the hottest home decor trends currently heating up the market, design blogs, and the internet.Today's home decor trend starts with the letter C for...COLLAGES!Home Decor Trends 2014 with Alice T Chan C is forcol·lage  [kuh-lahzh, koh-]noun1. a technique of composing a work of art by pasting on a single surface various materials not normally associated with one another, as newspaper clippings, parts of photographs, theater tickets, and fragments of an envelope; an art form in which compositions are made out of pieces of paper, cloth, photographs, and other miscellaneous objects, juxtaposed and pasted on a dry ground.Despite the traditional definition, most collages used in home decorating revolve around a theme, i.e. family photos, travel photos, a collection of mirrors and the like.  These groupings are a great way to personalize your home and is a creative way to display what you love.  Particularly in today's more casual home environments, people want to be surrounded by momentos reflective of those who live there. There are many options to help you create the collage look. There are pre-made collage frames where multiple frames are attached as one unit - takes the guess work out of it. Just insert the photos and voila...instant collage!Home Decor Trends 2014 with Alice T Chan single collage frame

You can mix and match different frames and if they have different finishes, they can be sprayed one color for uniformity.
